Candle Care

Get the best from your Side A candle

First burn
Give your candle enough time for the melted wax to reach close to the edges of the tin.  This helps encourage an even burn and prevents tunnelling.

Trim the wick
Before each burn, gently remove the charred part of the wooden wick.  You only need a short, clean wick above the wax - around 5mm is plenty.

Keep it playing safely
Burn your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, children, pets and anything flammable.  Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Know when to stop
Don't burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time and stop using when there is around 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the tin.

A little change is normal
Our candles are made with plant based soy wax and wooden wicks.  As your candle burns, you may notice some natural changes in the appearance of the wax, including slight discolouration around the wick and the wax may reset less smooth than when it was purchased.  This can happen as the wick burns and the wax melts and is perfectly normal - it will not affect the performal or fragrance of your candle.

Wooden wicks can be quirky
If your wick struggles ti relight, make sure any loose char has been removed before trying again.  Wooden wicks sometimes need a little more attentions than cotton ones, but that gentle crackle is worth it.

Look after your Track and it'll keep playing for longer.
